Why CrossFit?

Good question. CrossFit is a training methodology, meaning it’s ‘a’ way to train. It was created by a personal trainer of many years, named Greg Glassman back in the 90s. Since then it has grown across the globe, altered many lives and also changed the fitness industry from what it was back then. We choose CrossFit for what its main goal is, to keep people as fit and prepared for life at all ages. The CrossFit games can lead us to believe that CrossFit is all about ‘performance’ and as it says ‘finding the fittest on earth’, but to us, that’s not why we do it. We do it because all too often we see people later in life loose their ability to live independently. We see people in the middle of life say ‘I know I need to make a change now whilst I still have chance, because I’m not as fit or healthy as I want to be’. We see people earlier in life with many paths to take, and we hope that by coming along to us they can learn enough about training and themselves to set themselves up for success when it comes to the longevity of their own health and wellbeing.

Simply, at Forest Flow our goal has always been to help people to stay as fit and active as they’d like to… for as long as they’d like too.

So we use the methodology created by CrossFit, and bring our Flow twist to the rest.
